The Purse Posse

 S.O.S.

Okay, guys and gals.  I've declared war on my house.  I've decided that we have accumulated w-a-a-a-a-a-y too much stuff and am ready to get this place back into a managable state.

I need ideas on organizing!  Or any other household hints or habits that might help.  I have a few of my own, but I know you guys have ideas and tricks that are all your own that you never even thought might be helpful to anybody else.

Well, here's the place to share em!!!  I need all the ammo I can get before I go into battle, so please share ASAP, okay?  No little detail is too trivial, okay?

I NEED HELP!!!!!

 Helpful Hints from Miss Lou!!

Some helpful hints of a household product

A doctor's wife in Indiana has some tips for the benefits of that plain little bottle of 3% peroxide you can get for under $1.00 at any drug store. Her husband has been in the medical field for over 36 years, and most doctors don't tell you about peroxide, or they would lose thousands of dollars. Here are some helpful tips....

1. Take one capful (the little white cap that comes with the bottle) and hold in your mouth for 10 minutes daily, then spit it out. No more canker sores and your teeth will be whiter without expensive pastes. Use it instead of mouthwash.

2. Let your toothbrushes soak a cup peroxide to keep them free of germs.

3. Clean your counters, table tops with peroxide to kill germs and leave a fresh smell. Simply put a little on your dishrag when you wipe, or spray it on the counters.

4. After rinsing off your wooden cutting board, pour peroxide on it to kill salmonella and other bacteria.

5.For fungus on your feet spray a 50/50 mixture of peroxide and water on them (especially the toes) every night and let dry.

6. Soak any infections or cuts in 3% peroxide for five to ten minutes several times a day. This woman says her husband has seen gangrene that would not heal with any medicine, but was healed by soaking in peroxide.

7.Useful for preventing yeast infections.

8. Fill a spray bottle with a 50/50 mixture of peroxide and water and keep it in every bathroom to disinfect without harming your septic system like bleach or most other disinfectants will.

9. Tilt your head back and spray into nostrils with your 50/50 mixture whenever you have a cold, plugged sinus. It will bubble and help to kill the bacteria. Hold for a few minutes then blow your nose into tissue.

10. If you have a terrible toothache and can not get to a dentist right away, put a capful of 3% peroxide into your mouth and hold it for ten minutes several times a day. The pain will lessen greatly.

11. And of course, if you like a natural look to your hair, spray the 50/50 solution on your wet hair after a shower and comb it through. You will not have the peroxide burnt blonde hair like the hair dye packages, but more natural highlights if your hair is a light brown or dirty blonde. It also lightens gradually so it's not a drastic change.

12. Put half a bottle of peroxide in your bath to help rid boils, fungus, or other skin infections.

13. You can also add a cup of peroxide instead of bleach to a load of whites in your laundry to whiten them. If there is blood on clothing, pour directly on the soiled spot. Let it sit for a minute, then rub it and rinse with cold water. Repeat if necessary.

14. Use peroxide to clean my mirrors with, there is no smearing, which is why I love it so much for this.

I could go on and on. It is a little brown bottle no home should be without! With prices of most necessities rising, I'm glad there's a way to save tons of money in such a simple, healthy manner!

On another note, I would like to wish you all a very safe and Happy Easter. Have a great weekend everyone!!

Angel Hair Chicken Pasta
Ingredients:
3 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 of a .7 ounce package of dry Italian-style salad dressing mix

Directions:
In large saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Add package of dressing. Blend in wine and mushroom soup. Blend in cream cheese and stir until smooth. Heat gently. Arrange chicken breasts in a baking dish and pour sauce over. Bake in preheated oven at 325 for 60 minutes. When the chicken is near done, boil the pasta in salt water and the drain well.  Miss Lou's Recipes

From:   Miss Lou   (Reply)
Message:   Pup, I put 2 recipes on my blog and Lucy told me I should put them on the Purse Possee so could you post them for me?
(this is a really great dip for chips or crackers and really tastes good)

Cranberry Creamcheese Dip

1 cup frozen cranberries
1/2 cup frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
2 teaspoons grated orange zest
3 Tablespoons minced red onion
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
8 oz. package of cream cheese

Blend all ingredients in food processor or blender. Chill 1 hr. before serving.

Ok, here is recipe number two.
(This is really a quick and easy dessert and really easy to make and it's so good. We have it at our house quite a bit. We have found that we like peach the best but you can put anything in it that you like)

$10.00 Pie

1 cup all purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1 cup milk
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 stick margarine
1 can fruit filling or fresh fruit(we like the fresh fruit best)

Melt butter in 9" square pan. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder and milk together until smooth. Pour mixture in pan with melted butter. Spoon in fruit filling. (If using apple, sprinkle top with cinnamon) Bake at 370 degrees for 30-45 minutes. Prick middle with fork to see if done. This is really a yummy dessert and so easy to whip up.

Hope you try both of these recipes and hope you enjoy them. Have a great day everyone.

Thanks Miss Lou!  These sound yummmmmmy!   pup
